Following her father’s disappearance, Audrey inherits Chin Sin Terrace, an old, run down property he owns. But there is more to the apartment – within a secret room lies VEIL, a surveillance system rigged to spy on the residents through hidden cameras. Soon, Audrey is drawn into a world of voyeurism and discovers each resident has their own dark secret.
The show was developed and pitched by Jason Godfrey and Galen Yeo.
VEIL aimed to be an edgy departure from Mediacorp’s usual fare involving voyeurism and film noir.
Some highlights include:
- Finding a rundown old mansion in modern Singapore to film in, which was a challenge in itself
- The limits of local TV meant that some scenes had to be tempered for broadcast (too violent, etc)
- Experienced TV director Md Mahfuz Mazlan and DOP Derek Loo worked together for the first time
