Do you know the traditions behind Lichun and the reason for long queues outside banks on Chinese New Year? Have you joined the celebrations for Holi and Depavalibefore? Is Hari Raya Puasa just the Muslim New Year to you?
Mark Your Calendar! is a children infotainment education series for MediaCorp Channel 8, which seeks to promote better understanding and foster harmony among Singaporeans. Singapore is a multi-racial country, where we celebrate festivals from different races and religions. This series allows the audience to better understand the traditions and different aspects of each festival through activities, food and places.
The series premieres on 6th January 2019 on Channel 8 @ 10:30 AM.
In this new baking competition show, 10 of Singapore’s home-bakers battle out in Kek Champion’s kitchen to be declared the winner of Kek Champion. Every week, our hosts, Huda Ali and Chef Bob, would give the contestants two challenges for them to showcase their strengths. The challenges will push their skills to the limit and test how far they would go to get that title.
As with every competition show, an elimination will happen every week as well as one contestant being crowned the ‘Baker of the Week’.
To keep the contestants on their toes, a Surprise Challenge might be given to test the bakers’ reaction. Would they perform to their best of their abilities or crumble under pressure? From baking croquembouche towers to Kek Lapis, who can prove that they are truly a Kek Champion?
The series premiered on 1st January 2019 on Suria @ 8:30 PM.
The series can also be viewed on Toggle.

Have you ever thought of what you would want to do before you die? Or how you might regret all the things that you could have done, but never tried? Most of us get busy with our lives and never get round to achieving these wishes, but for some others who are less able – such aspirations may seem out of reach entirely.
The Wish features 8 stories of people with serious health conditions, who have a wish they want to see come true. These are wishes that we would take for granted, but have become near-impossible for the weak and dying.
We work with different charity groups and organisations made up of healthcare professionals, social workers, volunteers, and ordinary people to show how these unsung everyday heroes help fulfill the wishes of our profiles come true, by transforming their hopes into reality, even if it’s just for one day.
As the saying goes – time and tide wait for no man. The Wish reminds us to live life to the fullest regardless of who we are or what ails us. From cancer to heart patients; to those with disabilities or debilitating conditions, the series features Singaporeans from all walks of life. Each story is an inspiring affirmation of our humanity, and celebrates what we can do here and now, if we all just try.
